Individual Instruction can take place at a prearranged location. Most classes are conducted in southwest Houston near Meyerland Park. If that is not convenient for the student, Mark can travel to a more opportune spot.

Instruction is based on the student's level of experience and fishing situation. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or experienced; freshwater or saltwater; coldwater or warmwater - everyone can learn something.

 "The truly educated never graduate"

Mark prefers to teach "on the water". This allows the student the actual experience of casting as it would while fishing. Several areas are available in the different sections of metro Houston.

Mark prefers students at least 8 years of age; with an interest in learning fly fishing/conventional fishing. Mark has been certified by BSA, TPWD and The Episcopal Church of the USA in "Safeguarding God's Children" training. Your safety is our highest priority.

Pricing is based on each person for about an hour's worth of instruction. It is currently $80.00/hr. If there is a father/son or mother/daughter or couples needing the same time space; the individual instruction remains the same price. 

Depending on the student's needs, actual fly fishing instruction can be arranged. This would be at a location where they could actually catch some fish !

Group Instruction can facilitate any number of students. Classroom lecture sessions will orient the students prior to field class instruction. Additional instructors are available as needed. Group instruction allows students to observe each other in a critique mode while an individual is coached. By exchanging places, every student experiences within the collective group.

From time to time, Mark will conduct larger classes through different recreational organizations. be sure to inquire when those classes are available.
